Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she moved to Oxfordshire around the age of five, Emma attended the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. In a school play and an Stagecoach show, she took her role as lead actress at 10, and acted. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records for its debut day opening and opening weekend takings. Reviewers praised the film, particularly those who were young. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma later won five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
